I want to make favours out of sugar cookies for my son's birthday. How far in advance can i bake them decorate them and have them ready to go? and can they just sit on the counter until the party. The party is on sunday afternoon.

I usually make mine a week early and freeze them until the night before.

They should be fine. Sometimes I've made cookies that take that long to decorate and they are still good.

I use the NFSC recipe and think they are perfectly wonderful even after 1 week.
