Since you're new to caking, I might suggest this stand-up house pan, available from Wilton. http://www.wilton.com/store/site/product.cfm?sku=2105-2070

Otherwise, you'll have to carve a cake to the right shape, which can be daunting for a beginner.

Good luck and post photos! icon_smile.gif

I have just uploaded a pic if my first house cake which I did a couple of weeks ago. Its far from perfect but was good fun to make. Make sure you have good support, I put four dowels in both sections and carved the pitched roof. Also used an impression mat for the brick work and the back if a knife for the tiled roof. The person who lived in the house loved it, he didn't mind the imperfections

It's in my photos, it will be easier to carve your cake if it is chilled, just make sure you wrap it well. Can't work out how to do links yet. Hth
