No kidding. Is there are really legit reason (health or no car) that you can't take them yourself? You certainly don't have to say, specifics aren't really anyone's business, but I would go thru hell and high water to make sure my cakes arrived safely.

If someone ask me to make a cake, even though that cake is a gift or a donation (I give all my cakes BTW), I ALWAYS insist that that I deliver the cake myself. Most people do NOT know how to handle it.

In this case, it is the fault of the delivery service. 100% their fault. The delivery person was ignorant about delivering something very fragile.. why should you get part of the blame ? you did everything right.

What? That makes no sense. This guy did something to the cake, and he's trying to cover himself by paying you for it.
