Do y'all have any tipes on how to make the lego pieces? I've seen several Lego themed cakes but no tutorial videos. Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Are you talking about making the cake big pieces of lego? or making little pieces of lego to go on a cake?

Hi,
Why not PM the person who made that cake? I'm sure they would help, it looks like they've cut one each little dot from fondant, but I could be wrong.
sorry not to be more help.

Ok so the way I did my Lego cake was to make strips of each color and them cut them in individual little pieces. Then I cut dots out by using a small Wilton tip. One thing I would recommend is that you start from bottom to top. Also make sure you let your fondants hardened then it's hard to place them around curves and rounded edges. You can check out my cake under my pics and let me know if you have any questions. HTH

I agree with JamAndButtercream about both points (contacting original designer and the fact that the "dots" are probably just cut out of fondant and placed on top of the 'bricks'. One trick I would suggest (I've thought about this as I'm thinking of making a Lego's-themed cake for my daughter's birthday party this fall), is that when making those dots, use a round icing tip to cut them out of a somewhat thickly rolled piece of fondant. It's quick and the dots will be uniformed in size. icon_wink.gif
