Wondering if anyone can help with how to make the ruffles on this cake...it's not a standard flower cut. Are they fondant or 50/50? Attached to buttercream? And any great tips on the beautiful colors?? THANKS

Honestly to me it just looks like circles or maybe rounded squares of fondant which have been kind of scrunched up. There is probably a layer of buttercream underneath to which the fondant is attached. The colors are easy...just make three or four different shades of the same color.
Looks like circles to me too. I used a similar technique for the flowers on this cake:

I think circles too and they were shaped at 4 corners like a square. That is a great looking technique. Into my idea box it goes!
