Chocolate ganache in center of cupcake?

Can I put a little ball of ganache in the center of the cupcake before baking for a fudgey center? Anyone tried it?

Making a caramel cupcake for tomorrows fair, thinking a choc center might be nice.... will post results later, appreciate any thoughts....

I usually fill my cupcakes after there done baking. Never tried it this way. I'd love to hear the feedback.

I have done it both ways before baking and also after. I actually like putting it before baking the cupcake. Just like QTCakes1 said it has to be solid and cold. [/quote]
