How Long Does A Wilton Pan Last?

I'm finding a ton of great pans on ebay. Though I was upset to find the one I really wanted, I got outbid on, literally at the last second.
So, the question of the day is, "How long does a Wilton pan last?"
Example:
If I buy a retired pan off ebay, recieve it and it looks like it was in good condition. The seller says it was used 3 times, and it was bought new in 1978... How long will the metal actually hold up?
My oldest pan is from the late 80s, it's from my mom. She bought it, used it half a dozen times, and it looks like it's doing well thus far.
What's your oldest cake pan from Wilton and how long do you suspect it will last? OR.... have you had one die on you?
ive never had nay problems with my wilton pans.... i dont know how old they are exactly but they are sturdy
I have wilton pans that are at least 30 years old. If they are taken care of they will last. If the seller claims the pan was only used a few times, and it appears to be in good condition, you should have no problems getting many years of good use out of the pan.
I have some pans that my mom had and they are over 35 years off they still work fine cook great too so I don't think you will have any problems with them. I hope this helps
In the late 1970's I bought a box of Wilton 8" and 10" cake pans at a bakery auction. They were sturdy, no dents or scratches, but encrusted with cake residue. Totally disgusting but the box was $2 so I took a chance. They got a good scrubbing and a soak in bleach water; and I'm still using them.
I was in this business for 30+ yrs; I had pans given to me that I was told were like 20+ yrs old. They were still in very good condition when I passed them on.
I like Wilton pans, but I have not been baking that long. I am confused when I see people comment on other threads that they are not that great. So what is the deal? Is it just that some people like "designer" pans? What I mean by that is pans sold with a famous bakers name or am I wrong?

The better pans that people like are Magic Line and Fat Daddio's. Not pans with a famous baker's name on them...I haven't tried those to tell you how they compare For me, the Wilton and Magic Line pans give similiar results.
About the original question, if you don't put the pans in the dishwasher and don't dent them, they hold up forever, basically. Even when they're banged up, they still work as long as they'll hold batter.
