I'm practically begging DH to buy me one after we get our taxes back next year, lol. With us having the baby and my withholding being so high, we're sure to get a nice check back. Please oh please! lol

I had a KA 5-qt for 15 years that I absolutely loved. It had the bowl lift rather than the tilt head, and for those asking, I had no problem with tipping it in under the beater. However, I usually just put the bowl in first, then lock in the beater (or unlock the beater and drop into the bowl before removing it).

A few years ago I decided I wanted a bigger mixer, and bought the Cuisinart 7-qt. (I gave my beloved KA to my best friend.) I haven't been happy with it at all. First of all, I don't like the tapered bowl. It's difficult to scrape down into the bottom of the bowl during mixing without making a big mess, and trust me, you need to scrape all the way down in, or there will be partially mixed batter down there. Also, it's relatively loud (though maybe just more high-pitched than my KA), and feels like the motor is not as powerful...meaning I can stress it out fairly easily while making a batch of MMF or a stiff bread dough.

I'm drooling over the KA 7-qt now! Time to start saving up. WS won't have an exclusive on it forever, so if we bide our time, we should be able to get it for less soon enough.

I think the 6 qt will be perfect for me, because its every bit as nice as the 7 qt as far as I can see, and I have now used both. So far I really like it. My 5 qt kitchenade was great, I loved it....I made pie dough in my new mixer yesterday and it was the best I have ever made lol who knew
