It is sooooo nice, candy apple red too! But--- very expensive. Just wondered if any CCer's had see it yet!

My husband bought me the grey one for our anniversary. I sold my Artisan on Ebay. I love it. It is powerful and quiet. This weekend I am going to make a tiered paisley cake and I'll have to make a lot of batter so I'll taking advantage of the size. I love it I know I said it already

I bought the 7 quart mixer yesterday from WS. I am shocked at how whisper quiet the thing is. I intend on calling the Kitchenaid people and finding out how they did it and if they intend on making all the other size mixers as quiet as this one. If they are, I am going to be selling a whole bunch of mixers on Craigslist real soon and replacing the ones I already have. I love it.

i just looked up some brevilles, vikings (7quarts all of them) and this one.. the new KA says 1.3 hp speed and the brev's and vik's say 1000w.. i looked up on the conversion chart http://www.unitconversion.org/power/watts-to-horsepowers-conversion.html or rather converter it says 1000w is 1.34 hp.. which means one can get a viking 7 quart 1000w for alot less then the new KA

however i've never worked with a viking. i have a 16 yro 4.5 quartt KA though.. in a few months may be able to get a new mixer so i need to know which one's are best for heavy duty work.. i Definitely want a 7 quarter though lol

There is no doubt that the KA 7 quart is overpriced. After all the only place you can get it is at WS and they over price everything. Unfortunately I could not wait. Business has exploded at my shop and I needed another mixer. And it had to be bigger than the 6 quart, so I went for the Kitchenaid rather than another 7 quart Cuisinart that I have. I am glad I did. It is so quiet that I put it in the work room open to the front counter space. Now it won't be too loud for customers.

I only wish that I could have bought two, but could not justify it when I have other 7 quarts in perfect working order. But when they go......

omg I WANT one so bad but my husband JUST bought my current kitchen aid this past christmas LOL... Maybe when I get enough orders in to justify it then I will buy one..

I have not owned a viking stand mixer but I do own a viking sewing machine and it is a work horse.

I'm not sure I like the way you have to tilt the cuisinart bowl to get it under the beater.??!! Anyone with experience have a comment on that?

for those that got the new KA 7 quart do you have vikings too? if so.. which one do you like better. cause if the new ka performs better i'll be happy to pay the diffrence.. though not happy bout $550 lol

does this new one just move up and down with the side handle? Is it a big deal that it doesnt tilt back or does it?

I saw the 7 qt KA and the guy at Williams Sonoma told me they've been using it for all their demos and it's great. I want it...If you look to see how awesome it is it's not overpriced! I have three KA 6 qts and the Cuisinart, and I use them hard, so they're totally worth the cost.

Factor in that price the fact that Williams-Sonoma guarantees them for life. My Pro610 had a gear issue and it was replaced with the great customer service I got when I bought it.

Some people seem critical of WS prices, but it is a boutique catering to upper income people who want the environment, customer service, top quality merchandise, and a knowledgeable staff. That place is a treat to shop in. We don't get that at Sam's and Walmart. That type of shopping experience comes at a cost. And most WS shoppers enjoy the exclusivity of their signature items.

Another WS customer service advantage: Their recipes are exceptionally good. And their premium ingredients have been very good. I usually don't do anything not-from-scratch, but those ingredients are my version of fast food.

very good points! thanks for the youtube vid~ love the points and differences brought up.. i'm leaning more towards the new KA for alot of reasons.. the warranty with WS is a big factor especially with that the fact of the gear issue happened with my KA a few years ago (ka artisan) when it was dropped. hubby adjusted, still runs but i need "more power" and capacity

Okay - I am only about an hour from Kitchen Aid outlet. I bought a great refurbished six quart pro for around $200 - and it works great. But would really like one size bigger. I will have to see if they have a refurbished one there. (Plus you get a 10% discount with AAA membership.)

Given that 7 quarts are new and only sold at WS, I think it will be a long, long time before you find refurbished ones. I personally love the 7 quart. You can't use it for smaller batches of stuff due the fact that there is not enough batter to mix it properly. But for other things it is great. We are loving it in the shop. Plus the shiny red color is fun to see in a sea of stainless steel.

And their prices don't go down. The lady at the store told me that she had never seen a 1 year old KA Pro610 break down, so the refurbished will be a long time coming. My guess is that the 7 is of the same construction as the Pro610. I have heard the smaller ones are more cheaply made.

Wow.. those of you in the US have no idea how wonderful you have it!! That 7-quart, even with the overpricing at WS... well.... it's less than I'd have to pay here in France for a KA Classic!!! UK is better than France, with a KA Artisan costing about 410 pounds sterling.... which means it's about $635! Sigh... could do with someone bringing me one over from the states... even if I do have to use a voltage adapter! heheh!!

So I order a viking 7 quart 1000 watt for my birthday (from my hubby of course ahem) anyway it comes and its huge....on the front it says 5 quart 800 watt.....omg....make a long story short....they said and I quote :OMG" haha
anyway I tried it out, the cake batter was inside the beater and I had to pry it out, next the buttercream, I scarped however when I was done frosting cakes I found a quarter stick of butter in the bottom....I sent it back day after my birthday .....anyone ever try the cuisinart stand mixer?

gidgetdoescakes: you ordered a viking 1000 watt 7qt. mixer and they send you a 800 watt 5qt.? first of all they didn't even send you what you ordered, you got charged for the wrong thing I hope that they reimbursed you for the shipping back. Is Viking made by KA? I am kind of lost here? If you ordered a viking 1000 watt mixer and got the wrong one are you sure you don't want to make them send you the right one at their expense? The vikings look pretty big and powerful. I know nothing about the brand of mixer you asked about. Sorry. Just trying to understand what happened here.

I ordered the 7 qt, and on the bottom of the mixer it had the right number for a 7 qt, but it said on the front 5 qt.........I dont know but I was so heart broken....

oh and they never offered another mixer, just the paid upd label haha....
