I use the full 2 mix WASC recipe for my 12x18 half sheet and it is always perfect. The chart for amount of batter per pan that I have used forever says 14 cups for 12x18 and 7 cups for 9x13. So why doesn't my 9x13 come out high enough? Unless my chart is wrong. I hate to make the whole recipe, but I feel like that's the only thing I can do, and then have extra batter. Advice? Thx!
I use the *Original* WASC recipe that uses just one cake mix. I agree, when I use that recipe for a 9x13, it isn't enough batter to get a full 2" layer. It does make some sense, though, that if a 12x18 takes 14 cups, a 9x13 should take slightly more than 7 cups. If you double a 9x13, it would be 13x18, not 12x18. I've been trying to combine baking for different orders so I can make more than one recipe and have enough batter for the 9x13 plus another, smaller cake or some cupcakes.
