Hello guys, I am in the starting stages of putting together my website and, was hoping for some feedback on the general concept / colors / layout.

I have only completed the main page and, am not to happy with it and, thinking of ditching the About tab and instead having that as the home page or starting point with a bit of information on who we are and what we do.

(Please note those images are NOT mine and, only used for concept/spacing .... I simply grabbed them from a google search of cupcakes that fit into my vision and idea and, intend to replace with my own images after I have my photo shoot this weekend!)

I like most of it with the exception of the center section so, any suggestion on what I could have their would also be really appreciated!!

Just wondering why the "S" in Suzie is in lower case? Also can your logo be in a differnet color? Everything seems to be blending in with no variations...... just something for you to consider......

Hello fellow Torontonian.

It's hard to judge without seeing more of the site, but the layout of the page you posted is attractive, simple, and clean. The navigation tabs are easy to locate and easy to read.

I'm viewing it on a 22" monitor using Chrome, and notice a lot of empty space on the sides, I assume it was kept around 600 px for compatibility with smaller monitors?

I agree with the previous post that the S in your name should be capitalized.

The circular background of the logo would pop more if it did not match the background, if the cupcake picture and the name were on a soft pastel or neutral instead of brown, I think it would look better.

Agree it would make more sense for the index.html file to contain whatever information is on the About tab, and ditch that tab entirely, a short intro about yourself and what you do could greet people from the moment they enter the site.

I would expand the footer to contain all of your contact information such as email and civic address, unless you only want to be contacted by phone? Is the Contact tab going to a page that is a recap of how to contact you, or will it be a form for people to enter their information and request a quote?

I agree with the above.. curious as to why you use the spelling Flavour on the home page and flavor in the tabs.

Agree with others, don't like logo with just the uppercase C. Either all lower case, or uppercase S. Also think there should be a little more info on the business on the front page i.e who/what you cater for, weddings etc. and the area you cover.

Thank you guys! You confirmed for me a few things I didn't like either and, gave me some other things to look at as well!

It is extremely rough and, wanted to get some general feedback before I went and put lots of work into it!

The name looked funny with two caps so, I will probably just go all uppercase.

Flavour is the way it should be spelled for Canada but, I always spell it flavor so, it was probably just a typo in the one spot

I do like your logo as is.. ovearll image is cute and design is simple yet attractive. What I would definitively try is to use black texts instead of pink ... brown? maybe or let the use of your colors for popping up details and keep the wording in only one color

The background green of your picture section does not match the green of the over all page. (I couldn't check your source code to see it you had two colors or one listed.) Use a consistent dark color for print information. In other words, reserve the pink for your logo.

It's nice but I agree with most of what's been said already. One thing I noticed was that when I run my mouse over the would be links, they have different destinations as to where I would be going, like if I were to click on gallery, it shows that I would be going to vendors...pricing shows contact...and contact shows events.

I know it's not your final product but while working on it you may want to correct that as well. You're doing a great job and it's looking really nice. What are you using to do your website?

I have to say, I think you need the capital c to let the customer know it's two words, otherwise you need to add a space between. When you put it all together with nothing to define the next word it's harder to read: suziecakes vs. suzieCakes. The capital also helps to emphasize that you sell cake. I think the issue with it visually is that the C is not centered in the oval and centered below your cupcake, but then it puts the suzie part too far too the left.
I would try all lowercase and a space or half space to define the words from each other.
I have no problem with the brown on your logo.
And I like the pink letters on the green background. I like that the pink from the logo to the photo titles to the contact and phone links on the bottom keep my eye looking around the page.
