My son has asked for a pina colada cake. Honestly I have never had a pina colada anything. I'm not sure what flavors I am looking for. I tried putting it into the recipe search but didn't come up with anything clear cut.
Could someone just tell me what flavors I need or if your willing a great recipe. I would so appreciate it and really feel kinda stupid for having to ask. icon_redface.gif

I made one from a modified box mix. Pina colada is pineapple-coconut flavored so I used a pineapple cake mix and added a box of coconut cream pudding. For the icing I made regular buttercream, and added Lorann pina colada flavoring to taste. It didn't take much! For the filling I have used a pineapple filling from CC, I have also used Rich's Bettercreme mixed with the Lorann pina colada flavoring.

HTH! Good luck!

Pina Colada is made with Pineapple juice, coconut cream or milk, rum and ice. I recently did a PC cupcake and did a scratch coconut cream cupcake which I filled with Pineapple Curd and topped half with Malibu Rum buttercream (for adults) and coconut buttercream (for kids).

I used a boxed pineapple upside down cake mix and throw some pineapple tidbits in there...For the icing I make a buttercream and add either the loranne pina coloda flavor or I thaw some pina coloda mix and use that...and top with coconut. Easy and tasty.

I use a yellow cake mix with crushed pineapple (use the juice as your water), coconut, and flavorings:rum extract, pineapple flavoring, and coconut flavoring. I use IMBC to top it.
