Yup, just like everything else, Betty has joined the latest in marketing ploys -- downsizing the amount, charging the same price. I just picked up a bunch that were on sale (BOGO) and when I got home and put them away I noticed the box was and inch shorter than the other ones I already had. Checked and the new ones (with the double box tops) are now 16.25 ounces instead of 18.25. Wonder if the 2 oz. difference is going to cause problems with my favorite WASC recipes.

I'm wondering if the directions on the back as far as the amounts for eggs, oil, water, have stayed the same...

Geez, I never thought to check that (dumb moment!!).

Just checked . .. still calls for same amounts, so I guess it'll still work the same way for WASC.

I haven't noticed a size difference here..but I noticed the other day that my main grocery store is starting to carry a few of the Betty Crocker Gluten free mixes..Very expensive though at $6.29 a box and they are way smaller than a regular mix so you would need double the boxes....

Now I know what happen to my cake. I used my same recipe. The batter was not as thick and the cake had crusted on top after baking. I have not tasted the cake because the order was cancel at the last moment. Okay how do I adjust the recipe icon_sad.gif

pilsbury made theirs smaller a year or so aGo. We noticed when one cake mix would no longer make a full 9 x 13 cake. Remember when the old mix would completely fill the pan to the top?

So how about Duncans, or do you refuse to use them. How much is in that box?

I just noticed the same thing when I bought BC today...the eggs were the same but the oil has increased while the water has decreased. Still can't believe they can say it can make 24 cupcakes when they have decreased it by 3 oz?
