it is my sons 3rd birthday in a couple of weeks and i want to make him a really lovely cake. Unfortunately he changes his mind every 5 minutes about what he wants, i even told my partner he would have to choose and order it from me like a customer so it would be his fault (lol) but he refused to take responsibility (not that i blame him)
so far i have had Toy story, Jake and the neverland pirates, Cars, Tinkerbell, iggle piggle, mickey mouse, oso etc
so you can see my problem what do i do???????????

It seems like most of them are Disney, so maybe a Disney themed cake? You could have different parts of the cake for different Disney movies or characters. That way he gets them all in one and you don't have to worry about making one and him being unhappy because he changed his mind again lol Hope that helps!

Why not do a tiered cake showing different characters? This is one of my favorites... just change it around to add the characters he likes

Put the names of the different themes that he likes into a bag and have him draw one from there. Tell him whichever one he picks then that is what it is going to be. Period!
Since I don't have kids I am not really sure if this would work, but I would stand my ground. lol
Tell him you need to buy the supplies and after it is bought then it is to late. Good luck.

I like both the ideas of a Disney themed cake. Make the layers with different movie themes and then buy (or borrow from your son and wash) some character figures and place them around each level. If he doesn't already have the characters they can also be part of his gift.

I have a 3-year-old turning 4 next month. She is the same way. Anytime she sees a cake she likes, she'll tell me that she really likes that one and she really wants that one. However, knowing her as I do, I know that if I just pick one thing I know she likes, once she sees her cake, she will love it and forget about all the others (since she never seems to remember them anyway). I don't know how picky your son is, but I were you, I would pick one theme for your son, tell him about it and get him all excited it about it, then make a cake with that theme. You might show him what the cake will look like (although I think I'd keep it as a surprise), or you could show him what some of the party favors/invitations look like to help him get excited.

my first idea was a train with different disney characters faces in the windows????????????
second was a tea party (bit like alice) but with different disney characters????????
or maybe just a couple of layers with fondant discs with disney faces?????

Out of the ideas you just said I'd say the train cake is the best, how good are you at make figures? It could be like a train with all the characters he has mentioned in the back? That's if you're up for the challenge of making loads of figures, I wouldn't go for the tea party one, you'd have to make the table and chairs etc.
