adding flavor to buttercream

At the bakery store, I found these little drams of extracts (I guess) in lots of different flavors. I bought and used the strawberry after the bakers told me it worked well. I tasted a little bit on my finger, dumb idea, it was awful, but it was so good in my buttercream. The strawberry flavor was great with my strawberry cake. So my question is, has anyone tried these before? How about the cheesecake one? Does it really taste like cheesecake?
