Has anyone used the Silhouette cutter? I'm confused as to how it works. Does it print edible ink onto the gumpaste and then cut it? I was on Linda's site but it doesn't really explain how it works.

The Silhouette is an electronic cutter used for cutting paper, but can cut gum paste and icing sheets (with the modified blade). You use your computer to make designs ( not expensive cartridges ) and send the design to the Silhouette. The icing sheet or gum paste is loaded into the machine on a cutting mat and the machine will cut out the design.

If you have an edible printer, you can send a picture from the Silhouette software to your printer. Print the image onto gum paste or the icing sheet. Load the icing sheet into the Silhouette and the Silhouette will then cut the outline of the image. The printer prints the image and the Silhouette cuts the image.

By the way, Icing Image sheets are the best for this. They hold up better than the other brands. I can airbrush color on them or even print designs on them. I have cut out designs to fill an entire cake using the Icing Image sheets and they worked beautifully.
