Everyone has been so good with prayers & good wishes & donating money to CC. I just wanted to make this post to remind everyone that things are still very rough in La, Ms, Alabama, TX & other states that have taken in evacuees. We all still need prayers, still need help, still need someone to remember us. People are getting help here from the private citizens, churches & organizations! The Fed Gov isn't helping like they should. We are in dire need of help. The government has helped so many countries in their time of need & I'm ashamed to say we are not getting that good help. I know it takes time but we need help now. The deal about FEMA giving $2000 to each family for help is a lie. The evacuees were told to go stand in lines today & receive their money & guess what? They stood in line a long time & didn't get anything! I'm very upset with what is going on. School buses have been taken away from schools to bring more evacuees to safety BUT the school board is saying that the students that are without bus transportation HAVE to be in school OR it will be counted against them. That is not right! I would love to have a housefull of people to help but I can't because I can't afford it. We have people in our house now & we're all wondering what's going to happen next. They can't get help, so that means none of us can get help. I'm thinking of going to the welfare office tomorrow to try & sign up on food stamps & claim everyone in my house! I bet they won't allow that either! Something has to be done.

I'm venting big time sorry! I just hope you all remember us in your prayers & if you haven't helped out during the tragedy I challenge you to help out. I wouldn't even give money to the Red Cross. Find a person who is an evacuee & give them your personal help. That way they will get it.

The stuff you are seeing on TV is bad but it's worse when the reporters say cut. The news hasn't begun to tell you all the stuff that's going on. This is no attack on any certain groups or on the gov. I just needed to vent!! Things are bad people bad!! If this was your state would it be any different.. I don't think so. So please help where you can. I hope noone gets mad at me.. I'm on one of my rages!!!

Thanks for all the prayers!!!!!! We still need more~

Im sorry that things are so bad .....I live in san antonio and here they have given cards to people.

We saw a bunch of people at walmart today they have wristbands so that local restraunts and retailers can identify and offer them free products and meals. ex. mcdonalds is giving them a free value meal. when ever they want something to eat.
Aveda spa is giving them free hair cuts, grooming and makeovers.
also they have buses stops established to take them back and forth to various shopping strips.
Ive seen several people just stop and hand them money.
I agree that it seems like some areas are neglected but I think that its an overwhelming task and hopefully if people complain enough then others will try harder.

either way i will continue to pray

Hi, Tina. You should never feel worried about telling us how you are feeling. I am still waiting to hear about 2 older family members who lived in Gulfport. It is agonizing to me to think that they may be lost or dead. I have been trying to keep it in and not tell anyone. But it hasn't worked. And just this Wednesday one of my neighbors died in a motorcycle accident leaving a wife and 11 y/o daughter. I have given them all that I had in my wallet. My emotions are drained out between everything. My husband is still in San Antonio now, I have to keep working and taking care of my 3 kids here. Things get tough. But I always look to God for guidance and strength.
I have to say that I am embarrassed as an American that this is happening in our own country. I admit that we were not ready for the severity of this disaster. But when I see the faces and the anguish there, it horrifies and humiliates me to my core. I keep praying and hoping that things will get better for everyone. I just don't understand how we can come up with money and aid for every country in the world except our own. I rage along with you when I see the devastation and know that our own government is moving so slowly at this.
I am so proud of you, Tina for taking people into your home and trying to do the best you can for them. You are an angel in the midst of Hell for these people. I hope that things can turn around for you all very soon. I will continue to pray for us all. God is trying to tell us something. When you take God out of everything-like we are doing in the US-he will let you know in whatever way that he still rules the universe. It is up to us to listen for Him. Sorry this ran on so long. I am upset, too. Take care and God Bless!!

Tanya

I listen to Kidd Kradick and they are buying people bus tickets to get where they need to be. They were saying alot of the people in Dallas (and im sure everywhere else) actually have family to go to but no way of getting to them. TC dont worry everything is going to work out for you. Not sure if LA has TANF but youshould have the people staying with you go apply for it. ANd have them apply for the food stamps. I know in our town we have a place called PATH and they give out boxes of food to families who need it. If you have such an organization there maybe they can help you out with a few things or the ones you are helping. God belss you for doing so much when others do nothing at all. Stay strong and healthy.

i feel for all the people affected by katrina.. i have donated as much as i can to red cross.. but i know it's not enough.

it is sad to say that the president helps out every other country before he will jump to help his own ppl.
I'm in Canada and seeing that makes me sick.. why can't he put the american ppl first?

I am also in Canada and I think it is disgusting that the American gov't can give so much to other countries when they are in a time of need (immediately) and nothing is being done in his own freakin' country! It makes me sick...I also gave money to the Red Cross...I wish I could have given everything to help but I can't. I will keep everyone in my thoughts and prayers!

well maybe if our troops were on our own soil and not streched so thin we might have been able to send in the help faster and sooner.. Touchy subject i know but if all of our military wasn't in the middle east then we would have it here for ourselves. Don't get me wrong I am a military wife and support our troops 100%. it's just the ones who send themaway when we may need them here! Aorry bit of a rant here too!

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who feels this way. It's the little people like all of us that really don't get a say so in anything. My hubby is AF, my dad was AF (Retired), I have been in the military ALL my life. I can't believe that our people here aren't getting what they need. I don't know if ya'll heard this on the news or not but a lot of Reservists from the MS & NO area are in Iraq. They have family that are lost, dead or dying & the gov. won't let them come home! That's not right!!
Let them come home! (Ranting again!!)

Tanya, I'm sorry to hear about your neighbor. That is so sad. I know things are bad here but that just hit me that everyone has hardships. I need to learn & grow from that. We're in a bad shape but so is a lot of other people & worse. Thanks for reminding me of that icon_smile.gif (Still feel better after getting all this out of my system!! I can't rant & rave with strangers living in my house, not can I?) I totally agree with you about God trying to tell us something. Actually I agree with your post & all the other posters so far!! This world needs more honesty, integrity, & passion for one another!!!

Susan, can you PM me OR email me with the info you have gotten? I would really appreciate it. Thanks! [email protected] Thanks!

I hope noone feels like I'm saying their not doing enough. I hope my ranting didn't come across like that. I know there are Americans, Canadian's & people all across the world wanting to help & are helping. Bless Everyone!!!!!

Lastingmoments, Your town is awesome!! I'd be proud to be San Antonio!!!! I pray the people there will recieve plenty of blessings!!!!

TinaRe rant on girl, rant on!!!
Thanks CC friends for getting me ready for my day today!! Now I can stand in line w/ these evacuees & be proud because of people like you!!!!!! God Bless!!!
