It's nearly 1:00 a.m. and I'm up making/decorating cakes. I've finished my 6th cake, I have one more cake to go and 3 cheesecakes I haven't even started. We're having a cake auction at work tomorrow to raise money for this year's Air Force Ball and stupidly I told everyone what I was bringing so I can't back out!!! Why do we do these things to ourselves? I'm sure tonight will be a true all-nighter, nevermind the fact I worked all day today and have to work tomorrow...ugh!! Thanks for listening, this is the first break I've taken in 4 hours...glad you guys are here!

Bless your heart!! That's a load, for sure!! lol I tend to do the same thing, just not so many at a time...lol You're brave for taking on so many at once...much braver than I! I'm sure they'll all turn out great and will raise lots and lots of $$$ for your event! Good luck....

I know the feeling the only way that I make cakes is at night when my little one is off to bed so i can really focus.

so when im baking i get no sleep......but after stunts like this i find that the next time im baking i feel like its such a piece of cake it kind of forces me to get better and faster!

I'm laughing with you because I was sitting down to my computer for a break because, like you, I too am pulling an 'all nighter'. The only way I can do cakes is after the girls are in bed and then I have the kitchen all to myself. Every time I kick myself in the you-know-what thinking I MUST be crazy for staying up this late only to sell a cake that really doesn't make me any money when I factor in my time...lots of it. Then when I'm finished and I look at the cake I remember why I do it...same reason we all do....because we love it!

That's what cake decorating is all about! Staying up all night to finish a cake We all do it~ So happy to have you join our club of nuts!! LOL!! It is all worth it just to get compliments & cake orders! Good luck finishing the cakes!

i hope that you make lots of money. i haven't been doing this long but sunday i promised a cake and hurt my back and couldn't move but there i was getting that cake done ( stuipd or what) but all nighters come in many packages. good luck to you and get some rest as soon as you can.

Wow!! You are like the rest of us-Gluttons for punishment!!! But the end of that brings such wonderful delight that you'd do it all over again, right? I am sure that you will make a ton of $$ for the Ball. Just try not to land face first into one of your cakes!!! LOL

Are you still up oohlalacakes? It's 4:36 AM and I just finished cleaning up...that has to be worst part of it all. Hubby gets up at 5:30 AM...yep, we are crazy to do this. I'm happy with the cake though so I guess that's what counts.
