Hello. I have always been filling my cakes with just buttercream. Now I am wanting to start using fillings to give them a little more pizazz. I was just wondering if others are charging extra for fillings other than buttercream or if this is generally included in the basic cake price.

Included in the basic price.

However, if I have a request for a lot of fresh fruit and it's off season, then I may consider a premium charge. Or if the filling may have a premium alcohol. Some charge extra for premium fillings, others do not.

We include buttercream and cream cheese filling in the regular price, but charge a premium for fruit filling and dairy-free cream cheese filling because they are both more expensive.

Buttercream is included for me, but everything else is additional. It costs me extra and takes extra time (I make my own), so it costs my customers extra.

At the bakery I worked for we'd charge an extra 25 cents per serving for fillings other than buttercream.

I do not charge extra. The fillings don't take much more time to make than bc, and I've gotta put something in there.

I have a few upgraded filling that I charge extra for (these are fresh fruit and homemade custard/ curds or candybar fillings) but all the rest are included in the price of the cake

No, I don't. The only thing I charge extra for is ganache and actual cheesecake fillinfs, cause well it's not a cheesecake tasting filling, but actual cheesecake between regular cake. So yeah, those cost more. Curds and all that do not take that long for me to make. I can make those in between making cake.

If it's just an extract to flavor then no, no additional charge. Fruit, nuts, and curds I charge extra. I do 3 layers of it and I use organic. That stuff is not cheap.
