I bought and used the Magic Line cake tins yesterday. All I can saw is Holy Cow!! The difference is amazing! The cake baked tall and level. After I finished icing the cake, my DH remarked that it was the tallest cake I had ever made. He even brought out the tape measure! LOL

One thing I noticed is that the cake took a little longer to bake than in my "old" tins. Has anyone noticed that? There was a bit that was not completely done in the center but I just trimmed the top off, dug out the offending section, and filled it with cake scraps.

I love these and cant wait to replace my entire set with them!

LOL! I recently had a similar "glory hallelujah" moment when I used one of my Magic Line pans for the first time.

I found that mine baked faster, though. I did a 12 x 16 in 30 minutes; the 6" rounds took 33 (Wilton Performance series) and the Wilton 1/2 ball took 38. I'm not sure if even would have realized if I hadn't done them on the same day. icon_smile.gif

ahh aren't magic line pans.. well ... "magic" icon_smile.gif I lOVE them!!! As for baking a little longer, they are a thicker metal so it does takea little longer than other tins, but not too much maybe 5-10 minutes depending on the size. BUt i Love them, expecially the square pans with those nice sharp 90 degree corners!

Magic line are avalible at Country Kitchen Sweet Art and Amazon.com. Also, I would imagine that most decorating supply stores carry them. One thing negative about them -Do not toss in the dishwasher! They turn out funky looking. Also be prepared to use toothpicks to clean the corners of the square pans; otherwise they are great pans.

not only do they bake awesome but I have also noticed the difference in wilton and magic line in the darkness of the bottom of the cake. Wiltons bakes alot darker and the magic line pan and light and beautiful!!!!

Usually don't shop there but I jumped into Sur La Table today and they had some Magic line pans marked down! If my kids weren't having meltdowns, I would have browsed more!

I've been replacing my old Wilton ones with Fat Daddio and I really like them. I honestly hate the perfect "square" cake pans because they are nearly impossible to clean out the corners. I find that the Fat Daddio ones work just fine because you end up icing corners anyway, and plus they are WAY WAY easier to clean.

And I can't stand the rounded corners of the Fat Daddios. Gave mine away and will never stray from my Magic Lines EVER!!!

I never have a problem cleaning the corner.... I use my tip brush and a tooth pick. Just keep them right by the sink!

At first I wasn't sure I'd like it, but in reality, when I'm stacking the cakes, the corners are not really that rounded (they look more rounded in the pan than they do in the baked cake), and anyway, it does not affect the cake that much when you are icing it, if any at all. And cleaning them was a dream. And I hate cleaning things, so I'll gladly trade a VERY slightly rounded edge for 10 minutes less cleaning time. haha.

My husband took me back and bought the 9x13 pan for me. You know a cake brand is amazing when your husband is so impressed that HE buys the pans for YOU! icon_smile.gif I will never stray away from this brand.

as a hobby baker I use the regular Wilton pans, I do plan to replace them with magic line shortly. I did however buy a Wilton 12 x 18 pan with straight edges, (it was cheaper than magic line). It is great, I love it, straight edges and yes a higher cake. It made icing those edges soooo much easier as well.
Amazon sell Magic line also, just do a search for Magic line there are many sites to choose from.
