Hello!!! I have a question to ask. I need to know if CMC to make fondant is the same thing that a wilton product called GUM TEX ??? icon_rolleyes.gif if some know please let me know !! Thank you.

They're not completely interchangable. If you want to use gum-tex, then use one of the recipes designed for it.

Gum-tex smells weird and makes a pinkish paste, at least that has been my expericence with it. CMC is worth ordering if you can, because it's easier to work with, has better stretch, and makes a bright white paste.

Agree with Texas_Rose - gum-tex has an awful smell and my gum paste didn't harden properly even after 3 days. I would stick with CMC if you have it.
