I have been playing on vista print for days, trying to come up with a design for my card that pleases me...and I am not liking it so far So, I googled "bakery business cards" and found some really REALLY cute ideas, and have decided since I am marketing myself as a "Boutique Cakery" I need a very adorable, high end biz card! Is there a different site that will allow me to do this, or should I just hire someone? Its not just the card, but flyers and pretty much my logo I am trying to create! Any help on what I should do would be greatly appreciated!

Moo. They have what they call printfinity, where you can print a different design or photograph on every single card in the pack. If you have good photos of your cakes, that's all you need sometimes, and your info will go on the back, just in type, until you get a hold of someone to design your logo and flyers.

You can also check out istockphoto for some good images that might set you apart. You have to buy them, but they are much more unique than your standard clipart

I hire a professional. In fact, I just gave my information to our printer to create me a new logo. We are changing our name and need a new logo. It doesn't cost a lot and they do a great job. We have them make our business cards and our brochures. They have all of our information and if we need 1000 more brochures printed, they are done in a couple of days and they usually drop them off at our shop.

I've looked at some of these places and I knew I wanted something unique for me, not clipart that anyone can use or that are printed on cheap paper. Our cards and brochures are in high quality color on high quality paper and I think that helps show our professionalism, especially when I still worked full-time and only made cakes after hours.

Because of my background in marketing, I designed my cards, my site, the vehicle wrap, etc. My web designer adapted it to the final products. If you order the highest quality Zazzle card, they are very high quality.

Moo baby, Moo. You really can't any higher end than that. When you hand someone one of those cards, the feel of it makes them look at it right then, feel it, caress it, look again.....sorry, I get carried away. Ahem! Anyways, they are thick almost like a credit card, tearproof, glossy, beautiful, just gorgeous. And the printfinity feature is way cool. I get mini cards, text cards, and the regular cards. The mini cards are really cute. Instead of trying to fit an entire cake on a card, I crop it until it's just one side of the cake. So you get a "slice" of a different cake picture on each one.

Zazzle!!!!!!!!! I googled "Whimsical business cards + bakeries" and some many FUN designs popped up. MOre $$$$ than vista but well worth it!

I definitely think that business cards for a business that creates edible art - have to reflect the quality of the service you provide. If you go for cheap - your business will be portrayed as cheap. If the look of the card is not totally professional - isn't that how you will be perceived? Other trades could possibly get away with a cheaper business card - but crafts involving nice design - I don't think so.

Question ? As i was reading this thread, I thought about taking our business card and doing a multiple print on an edibel image,then using them on correct size cookie,brownee,or cake as handouts,samples at higher end bridal shows or other functions where you would use a unique way to advertise.

Anyone ever try this ?

I used it to find a designer/programmer for a very specialized interactive web module. You can find graphic design, web design, blog writers, photographers and more.

Or, you can have a logo contest at one of these places where lots of people design your logo and you pick the one you like the most and pay for it.

I have used this graphic designer a couple of times and she has made me a fantastic business card and pricing/informational brochure. She will do a custom business card design for $15.00 and that includes AS MANY revisions as are necessary until you are 100% satisfied. Her prices are beyond reasonable and her end product is great. I tried this once for a blood drive my moms real estate company was having. I did sugar cookies with stack-able icing and a pre-printed business card made of rice paper. Since I attended and knew some people there I got some immediate feed back and even saw some of the people eating the cookies.
The rice paper business cards looked AWESOME! I got tons of compliments.
The cookies and icing tasted AWESOME! More compliments.
What I noticed though were the looks on peoples faces while they were trying to bite through the rice paper. It was a mixture of confusion & dislike. Some people just peeled it right off and put it in the trash. I asked the people I knew later what they thought and they said it had a strange texture, almost gummy, and no taste.
I have since then heard of another type of edible paper, I think they are made of sugar, that I am planning on trying next time around.
