Hey there -

I've decided to give MMF a shot! But I don't have a Kitchen Aid, or any other, stand mixer....only a good 'ole hand mixer. icon_sad.gif (Don't worry...it's my only Christmas present request!!) lol Just wondering if it's possible to make it, at least the initial mixing, with a hand mixer. Has anyone tried it?

I want to make some ribbon roses, I think that's what they're called....the ones made of fondant that are folded and then rolled, basically. But I want them to taste good too!

Any advice would be appreciated!

THANKS! icon_smile.gif

JennT, you don't need a mixer at all. I never use one, just knead it w/ my hands. I'd be afraid you'd burn out your hand mixer, MMF is pretty thick, sticky stuff!

I second that. I have a KA, but don't use it for mmf. I just add sifted powdered sugar to the melted marshmallows mixing it in till the consistency is good enough to just trun it out on the counter and then I keep adding the P sugar and knead and knead and knead..I like doing it that wayicon_smile.gif Just be careful not to burn yourself with hot marshmallow!

I never use my KA on MMF. I use my hands~ It is so easy to make & cheap too!! Like the others said, be careful you might get burnt!

I also agree. I can't imagine doing it with a mixer. It is so easy anyway. And I kind of like how it reminds me of mixing up mudpies when I was a kid!! LOL

I use my hands as well. It works your triceps, and saves wear on my KA.
