Hi all

I have just posted a new pic and was hoping that someone could give me some tips on achieving sharper edges on my cakes. This last attempt was done using the upside down frosting method but, as careful as I am, I always end up rounding the edges when I apply the fondant. Is there a trick to this that I am missing? I see such pristine work in the galleries here so I am hoping someone can give me some tips.

link for recent attempt http://cakecentral.com/gallery/2091363

You might want to check out this video...

This video is part two and you'll want to watch part 3, which shows her covering the cake with fondant.

She does a great job explaining how to get sharp edges with fondant. I tried her technique this weekend and I got a sharper edge than I normally do so it does work. I just need more practice..This was my first time using ganache. You can see the red, white and blue cake in my gallery.

Great job on your cake!!
