Looks like they are slicing into a cheese cake! Maybe this was a large dummy cake and they cut kitchen cakes in the kitchen! Bazaar behavior all around at this wedding.

The shooting stars are a bit much.

Ummmm.........bigger isn't always better icon_cool.gif

It's so sad because South Africa is known for it's fabulous cake decorators--royal icing "wings" and gum paste flowers rivalled by few.
Done right, those proteus could have been amazing.

Those flat flowers stuck on wires just don't cut it on such a formal cake.

Yuck.........sorry.

First, that HAD to be a dummy! The bottom tier had to have been 30" round and 8" tall! That alone would have served 500, or more! I think it was 450 guests.

Second, PWEW!!! That cake looked like CRAP! I blame whoever designed it, the decorators did a great job . Very well excecuted, just a bad design.

I hated that cake...what's the thing on top called corn-o-copia??!?? The cake looked a bit tacky to me.

Right, not impressed by the cake...and that's a shame considering the caliber of decorators/designers at their disposal.

But let's get to the real gossip...Princess Stephanie looks AWFUL! She's only 46 but in that picture she could easily be mistaken for 10 - 15 years older than that.

Actually, I thought both Caroline & Stephanie looked "sad"--way beyond their actual ages.

Definitely too much Cote d'Azure sun and not enough sunscreen and too much Dom Perignon...............and probably cigarettes.

I'm not an advocate of plastic surgery or Botox, etc., but with their money & options, they could do a lot of "natural" things to look better/healthier.

I agree! Not to mention Princess Caroline's daughter and son (on the right), look like thugs! Or the mafia or something....

The cake is a hot mess.

But what's up with Princess Charlene? She looks miserable in every picture. She's smiling alright, but it's forced and she looks like she can't wait to get the F$%^ away from him. What do you think will last longer...the cake or the marriage? Yikes.

Oh, that hot styrofoam mess will be around in the next millenium...

As for the marriage........when the DNA test comes back proving that he fathered a 3rd out-of-wedlock baby while he and his new bride were a couple..............she'll be long gone.

He looked so unconcerned while she was crying at the altar--what a toad. Speculation is that she was somehow forced to go thru with the marriage. His mother would be ashamed.

I have to agree she looked miserable! The smile was totally forced, but she is marrying a much older man who is less than attractive, to put it nicely. She is a gorgeous girl, she could catch a much more attractive man who isn't a pervert, if she didn't marry for money or position.

I have to agree with comments so far - on all counts. The cake looked forced and fake....just like the wedding couple and all of the guests. No real happiness or affection to be seen anywhere.

Like eat a piece of cake once in a while. They're both VERY thin and that doesn't help. A tad of natural padding goes a long way towards filling things out.

Of course, that being the case, I should look about 12 icon_lol.gificon_cry.gif.

what a ridiculous cake! I feel bad for her, or really hope she is getting something good out of this (but yuck, she'll have to have an heir with him probably). because royal gossip can be fun: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2010834/Monaco-royal-wedding-Charlene-Wittstock-tried-run-away-3-times.html

I was wondering in which layer of that cake they hid her passport? icon_rolleyes.gif
