Help asap!! In a few hours I will be decorating a July 4th cake. I made fondant stars four days ago and they hardened nicely. I placed them on a cookie sheet after I cut them out. I wanted to get a head start and started to remove them and they are cracking when I take them off.

Should I have put them on something other than a cookie sheet? This never happened before.

Is there anything I can do at this last minute to get them off without cracking?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. icon_mad.gificon_cry.gif

Deep breath...You should have used parchment paper on the cookie sheet - next time try that.

As for this time when you need them off the sheet: Could you use a wide spatula to run under each to try to remove without damaging? Possibly, wet a towel in HOT water and then place the cookie sheet on top for a minute(?) or until they loosen up a bit - caution: They may soften if warmed too much, so be careful, but it won't matter if they soften a bit if you are placing them directly on the cake. Best of luck!

Thank You Everyone for your help.
I tried the first one to begin with and used the fan and it worked!

I'll remember everyone's advice in the future! thumbs_up.gif
