Thank you Sparkle25 that gives me hope!! I forgot about the strawberry cake I made last night for a coworkers last day at work today. We had a cheese themed potluck so had to frost in cream cheese frosting of course!

I just did a search in the galleries and found the inside flag cake. Too cool. I think I'll make one for the police station across the street.

Tip for the FNCC
re: filling cupcakes.

I have always used a bismark tip. Works OK.
I know others core out a bit of cupcake and fill the hole.
Then there's that special pan with the plug thingie.

Here's an easy way. I saw a bakery chef do it. i tried it and it's fast and easy.

Fill your bag with filling and use something like a 199 tip. Jam it into the top of the cupcake up to the edge of the coupler and squeeze out the filling as you pull the tip out of the cupcake. you should be able to fill a doz cupcakes in 20 seconds or less.

Hi Y'all,

Just passing through to say "hi". No cakes this week after the drama/trauma of the big wedding cake last week.

Planning for our 4th of July BBQ. I'm doing desserts but I think I will skip on cake. I've got some cookies in mind and I saw some super cute no-bake mini cheesecakes that go in shot glasses. I don't have that many shot glasses but small clear plastic cups are probably safer with kiddos anyway.

Happy caking everyone.

Working on a Barbie Princess cake for a friend of my daughter's little girl. First time doing one. Everything was great until I had to put the pink accent bow on. I just can't get it to match the deep rose pink on her dress. It is just almost orange-y looking no matter how much rose pink I keep adding. I tried a touch of blue and even purple but all that did was muddy it up. I've got a rosey petal dust I've run over it, but it's still not happening. Plus now that I look at it, it's not working where I've put it on her. Ugh...good thing I have until 1 pm tomorrow to work on it!

If I am ever on life support, unplug me...

Then plug me back in.  See if that works!

Not much tonight. I, too, am thinking about the bbq on the 4th. I would like to make Strawberry cheesecake cupcakes. The problem is what I should frost them with? I'm thinking cream cheese frosting would go well with the cheesecake. What do you think?

Sooooooooooo..........will a 3 tier round cake look stupid on a square cake drum? The bottom tier is 12 inches round and the drum is 14 in. square.
Please let me know what you think!

I just finished 4 dozen cookies yesterday, for another first birthday and 4 dozen cake pops. It's a hello kitty party. I'm almost done, just needed a break from that and my 5 month old crying.

I don't like being interupted when i'm in my zone. I get confused and forget what I was doing. I guess it comes with the territory of being a new mom. It's going to be a late night.

I also forgot about the fourth of July! I need to figure out what i'm going to make.

Well, I personally, don't a round cake on a square drum. But a square cake on a round drum is worse to my eye. But if it's all you got and you gotta use it, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Hello all,
First of all, for those of us in the USA...Happy 4th of July! I sent off a cupcake order today, that's it for clients this weekend. I have a cake for our own celebration on Monday so I'll begin work on that tomorrow. I'm going to try something new...a new design I have in mind...you'll see next week if it works!LOL!

My own little trick I tried this week...it's a red/white/blue drink...pour over ice an inch or so of grenadine, then an inch or so of blue curacao, and finally sprite or any other clear liquid...the colors don't mix until you mix them! So you'll have a patriotic drink! Just some fun for the 4th. Heavy week for me next week and I'm gone to a family reunion so once I get my orders out I'll be MIA for a solid two weeks...see you after!
