I have just purchased a cake cricut. I am not exactly sure what all it does. I was wondering if it prints in color or if they have to be air brushed. I haven't really been able to find any information on it. If any one has any information that would be appreciated. I haven't decided if I am keeping it or not, so please any information at all would be helpful!!!

There are TONS of threads on the cricut cake on this website. Just do a search under forums and you will find everything you need to know.

Generally what you would do is use a gumpaste in the color you want (dying it with gel food coloring first) and then using the machine and cartridge of your choice to cut out the desired shape.

I dont have this cricut machine, but i think it only cuts the shapes you want and doesnt print - its a cutting machine. Am i correct, any one?

You are correct. The Cricut Cake cuts shapes. It does not print. You use cartridges that have been designed for cake work (tho other ones work also), and cut out of gumpaste that you have colored for your project.

If you want a machine to print and cut, you need the Silhouette cake machine. Also, you do not use cartridges, but use your computer for your own designs. The cricut is a great machine, ( I have the expressions and cricut cake ) but I use my Silhouette all the time. I really think the cricut cake will not be with us much longer. It has been discontinued everywhere and finding the cricut cake supplies is almost impossible.

It cuts, doesn't print. The biggest tip I have is to use wilton's sugar sheets instead of the cricut icing sheets. The cricut ones break easily. Good luck!
