I have a couple of cake layers in my freezer (been there 2 weeks) that I'm considering using for a cake due this weekend. After they cooled, I wrapped in plastic wrap then in foil. Can I use simple syrup on them after they thaw so they will be moist? (I don't want to serve dry cake!)
Thanks!

Just the act of freezing your cakes and wrapping well, will produce a moister cake. This is done all of the time.
