Hi everyone,
I'm making a wedding cake (2 tier) with hydrangea-like flowers cascading down the sides of the cake. Do you think that I can affix them with royal icing, or do I need to affix them with floral wire and poke the wire into the cake? The flowers are made from gum paste and quite light-weight.
Thanks!
Charlene
I just made a hydrangea cake - and even though I didn't have any cascading, royal icing all the way, I can't even imagine the amount of wire I would've used if I had to do that for each blossom!
Charleehorse, how did your cake come out with the cascading hydrangeas? I'm doing a wedding cake this summer with cascading hydrangea blossoms from the top to the bottom of the cake and I really don't want to add wires to the blossoms. I hope yours was a success. Do you have a picture of it?
