Hey everyone,
I've been a member of CC for going on 4 years now. I just got married a couple months ago and I am now insta-mom to 4 little boys. I run a home based bakery and am actually doing quite well in my area. However...and this is so terrible it makes me sick to think about it...I was supposed to make a "smash" cake today. It was just going to be a little 6 incher decorated all cute so that a baby girl could smash it to smithereens for a photographer. This is all fine and dandy except--I forgot. I had to go fill in at my other job today and I had told this lady that this is where she could pick up the cake. She shows up, and no cake. I felt horrible! I have never, EVER forgotten to make a cake before. She was quite gracious about it and said it was okay and that she was late anyway. But it is NOT okay. I pride myself on finishing a job no matter what. I offered her a free cake, whatever size, whenever she wanted it. But I seriously doubt she'll ever come to me again.

Sometimes a pleasant person makes it worse...if the lady had her claws out at least you could be offended at that. Any way you could just take her an apology cake? I hope you feel better. =) Chin up butter cup!

Aw. I know that it sucks. But, hey, we are only human. And regardless of how professionally we conduct ourselves, we are all doomed to make a mistake. I would follow up with another offer for a free cake & another apology. Then take a deep & put it behind you. I am sure after this, you won't make 'that' mistake again... icon_wink.gif
