I just made cupcakes using the Celebrate It brand cupcake liners from Michaels and am VERY disappointed! The liners are falling off the cupcakes and I haven't even decorated them yet! This happened before with this brand and I vowed never to use them again. However, I had to make cupcakes today and they were the only liners I had. I had already been to the store and didn't want to go back so I just used them.
When I used these before, I had to use icing to hold the liners on the cupcakes. Thankfully my client didn't seem to notice (I think they ate them too fast icon_biggrin.gif ) and were very pleased with their cupcakes. So I thought I would give these liners a second chance, but it didn't work out well...
Has anyone else has this problem?
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can make these look better? Some look ok, but others are not working out at all. Thank goodness I made extra cupcakes! Hopefully, decorating will make it better.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks! icon_biggrin.gif

Hmm.... mine smell fine, they just don't look pretty.
Thanks anyway, imagenthatnj! I appreciate it!
I'm thinking there might be something wrong with the Celebrate It brand because I just read other bad things about it.....

I had the same problem when I tried to use pretty cupcake liners --I don't remember what brand they were but they were kind of thick and waxy and brightly colored. They looked great when they came out of the oven, but as they cooled, the wrappers came away from the cupcake so I've been afraid to use them again.

Do you think it would make a difference as to HOW the cupcakes were cooled? i.e. immediately putting them on a cooling rack vs. letting them cool right in the cupcake pan vs. putting them right into the fridge?

Well, I let them cool in the pan for about 15 minutes or so before putting them on a wire rack to cool completely.
The first time this happened, I took them out immediately bc I had to use my muffin pan again. Now, I have two muffin pans so I could let them cool a little in there.
They did overflow a little while baking (even though I really didn't put much batter in there, I guess that recipe rises a lot) and i had to cut them out bc the tops stuck, if that makes sense.
But, the 1st time I used these liners, my cupcakes didn't over-rise (diff. recipe) and they still were messed up! ugh.. just soo frustrated! These cupcakes are a gift and I just wanted them to look perfect!

I recently had the same problem with the same brand of liners. I baked 100 cupcakes with them and they were fine for awhile, but then almost half of them peeled away from the wrappers. I re-baked using Reynolds liners and didn't have a problem with a single one. I've also had problems with some foil wrappers from Hobby Lobby....not sure what brand those were.
