I just made apple pie mud cupcakes and put caramel SMBC on them and it would have up there with the best!
This recipe:
http://cakecentral.com/recipes/6828/white-chocolatebanana-mud-cake
but use a 400g tin of pie apples, and a teaspoon of ground cinnamon instead of the bananas. I cooked mine for 25 minutes at 150 degrees Celsius.
Then this recipe for caramel SMBC:

Gorgeous! Must highly recommend this to everyone!
These sound really good. By a 400g tin of pie apples, do you mean sweetened apple pie filling from a can?
Sorry, I just realised there had been responses.
Canned pie apples here are cooked sweetened chunks of apple to be used as pie filling, yes. Hope it's helpful.
