Okay I am making a cake for the hubby which is a 1 tiered cake with a mini 3d bear wearing a shirt that looks like the one he wears for work. Well I have everything figured out except..... and here is where i need some advice. Hubby is an avid bee keeper so I would like a small honey pot sitting in front of the 3d bear as if the bear it self was holding it. I have some what of an idea as how to accomplish this. Don't know how stupid it is but..... I was thinking print up a photo of the honey pot I want to make attach to cardboard and then cut it out so it's a template of sorts. Then I just add RKT to it and just shape it. It doesn't have to be huge just something simple. Also if I wanted it look like the bear had honey on it's paw how would I do that. Please tell me if my idea is silly and there is a whole lot simpler way of going about doing this. Yes I have looked on Youtube, Google and on CC and have not found what I am looking for.

Not sure if my answer to you is silly too. if its a small pot why not make it with 50/50 fondant/gumpaste. shape it into a honey pot. colour some piping jell and place over the pot. if its a big pot make it with rkt. i would imagine like a ball shape. once you have covered it with bc or ganache, cover with fondant and make a little neck and collar for the top of the pot.

I too would suggest using a combo of gumpaste and fondant. You could use hard candy to make "the dripping honey" from is hand. I think I have read on here of some people melting jolly ranchers candy to make small amounts of hard candy decorations. Yellow and orange jolly ranchers would probably make the right color. I'll see if I can find the post.

Ok, I found it, if you want to read the whole post just search "make flames". But the simplified answer is: crush up some jolly ranchers, place them on a cookie sheet on parchment paper and place in the oven to melt. Once the are out of the oven they will cool and re-harden. You could probably just shape the hot candy into the "drips" that you want with a toothpick and let cool then attach using a small dot of piping gel. Or better still, shape some aluminum foil in the shape of your bears hand and fill it with the hot candy with a little "dripping" over the sides. I hope that makes sense. Hope that helps.
