First Time Putting Fondant On Buttercreme

Doing a mario brothers cake frosted in buttercreme, but the cut outs are fondant. Never dont this before and just wondering if there are any dos or don'ts I should know? Im scared the cut outs are going to slide down the cake!

Nope. Just slap 'em on there before the icing crusts.

ive actually never put fondant on bc, but i assume it would be fine as ive seen m any people do it! i am completely guessing, but my guess is that you would eithe rhave to put decor on before the BC crusts OR youd have to wait until it crusts and use water or a gumglue. not so sure.... hopefully someone else knows the answer!

what if i need it to crust so i can smooth it out first?

Very, Very lightly wet the back of the piece. You can use water, vanilla, piping gel, or corn syrup. You can also use buttercream.

I made half half gumpaste/ fondant molds and they are still a bit soft is it ok to put them on the cake? or should i be waiting until just before it is due?
