Two cakes, two questions

I keep reading people say they use vodka + corn syrup to give their fondant a glossy finish. I have no vodka; anyone use a clear extract instead?

Secondly, has anyone made antlers for a moose/caribou cake? What medium did you use - chocolate or fondant? HOW?!

TIA!

vodka + corn syrup is what I use, too...not sure about an extract but I guess u could try on a little piece?

and go with modeling choc for the antlers...the fondant wont support that much

When I made deer antlers for a hunting cake, I made the antlers using a copper structure, and then put rkt on top of that to model them more. Then I covered in white modeling chocolate.
