Okay, I remember reading posts recently (in the last month or so) some people using stuff that you use instead of Crisco that is less greasy? icon_confused.gif I have looked and looked, and I can not seem to find this post, can someone point me in the right direction?

It is called hi ration, their are differant brands at differant costs.

Sweetex, alpine, etc.

I use SYSCO brand, it is 50lbs for $29.00. Even if you do not use that much you can use it for pastry, pie crust etc. It stores for a long time in a cool and dark place. So it is worth it.

here is the link, SYSCO calls it "cake shortening". When you call the place close to you ask if they have a cash and carry store for the public if you do not have a business license.
