Okay, I remember reading posts recently (in the last month or so) some people using stuff that you use instead of Crisco that is less greasy? I have looked and looked, and I can not seem to find this post, can someone point me in the right direction?
THANX
It is called hi ration, their are differant brands at differant costs.
Sweetex, alpine, etc.
I use SYSCO brand, it is 50lbs for $29.00. Even if you do not use that much you can use it for pastry, pie crust etc. It stores for a long time in a cool and dark place. So it is worth it.
here is the link, SYSCO calls it "cake shortening". When you call the place close to you ask if they have a cash and carry store for the public if you do not have a business license.
