Hello,
I am new to cc and baking and I have been making cakes for friends and family but I would like to get paid for my supplies and hard work. I contacted Sufolk County, NY and they said there are NO regulations HOWEVER, I would have to contact NYS AG which I did I was told very basic info and most important that there would be the home inspection.

Does anyone know what exactly they are looking for in the inspection? I want to be 110% prepared for them to come in and inspect my kitchen.

Thank you in advance for any info that anyone could provide. icon_confused.gif

Hi, I am in Nassau county and would be interested also. I am just starting to figure things out and didn't know what the laws/regulations were in having a home baking business. If anyone from Long Island knew that would be great

I have seen other threads for home baking in NY and believe that you require a separate kitchen, separate bathroom and no pets as part of the home bakery. You can look here as a start:

Not sure beyond that but I know NY and CT are pretty tough on home baking. I don't plan to go that route for another year or so, so I haven't been looking too hard at the requirements yet.

Hi

I'm also in Suffolk County and am excited to have found this thread

I just started decorating so hopefully I'll be where you are at in a few years

Good luck!

I just spoke with NYS and Suffolk county - Suffolk county is NOW saying you are not aloud to bake from your home. I am so confused in this whole process. I keep getting conflicting answers. So frustrating.
