Hi, I don't know if this is the right room but I would like to make cupcakes using my cookie cutters. I would like to know the best icing to decorate them. I would like to decorate them using the same techniques as decorating a cookie but I know royal icing will get too hard for a cake. So I'm looking for something similar where I can outline the cake, then flood it, & then decorate it. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Royal Icing with a little bit of water added to it will flood and stay really pretty and shiny. It won't dry completely so you have to do the design directly on the cupcake/cookie, but it also won't get hard like regular royal icing. It may work for you if you want to decorate directly on the cake and not transfer.
