hi
i want to buy some large icing nozzles online but not sure what size to get as i have noticed they come in sizes,i am looking for a large nozzle for big big swirls !! on my cupcakes
I use a wilton 1M tip to get big swirls on mine I'm sure there are others around though if you're not a fan of wilton. HTH.
If you want a large smooth swirl and not the star of the 1M you can use a 1A Wilton also I use both just depends on the look I'm going for. You can also search online for large pastry decorating tips and it will sometimes pop a few choices in sets that include tips like a pastry filling needle.
This is a good large tip set to purchase by Ateco. Global Sugar Art is running 10% off on Ateco products and a shipping special. I think it ends today.

I just bought the 'Best Ever Cupcake Icing Kit' from Bake it Pretty and the tips are huge and I absolutely love them. The diameter of the base of the tip of the wilton 1M is 15/16" and the actual tip is about 7/16" and is 1 3/4" long.... the bake it pretty tip is about 1 6/16" at the base and 11/16" at the tip and is 2" long, at least thats the measurements for the giant star tip. You can buy the kit for $19.50 and shipping was around $8 I think. The kit gives you 5 giant tips and a pastry bag, or you can buy individual tips for $2.50 each. Hope this helps
