I made 24 cupcakes for a neighborhood party and no one wanted to eat them because they said they were too pretty. I put a picture in my gallery. It is the first time I put up a picture so I hope it is there.
Ooooo those are so pretty! I admit to being one of those people who has a hard time eating food that is so perfect and pretty. Ill wait until someone else take the plunge then Ill go in after them Lucky for me I married a man who likes to be the first to dig into stuff so I don't normally have to wait long.
I made a beautiful loaf of mango bread once for a tropical themed company BBQ. Nobody ate any of it. I was so upset about it. The next day at work my dh went around and asked people why they hadn't eaten any of it. His co-workers said it was because they didn't know what it was I'd fussed it up so much trying to make it look pretty they didn't know it was food. Lesson learned, keep it simple.
I agree that those cuppies are sooo pretty!! I personally never have any problems eating cake....and I would have gladly eaten one (or two) of those lovely cuppies guess thats why I am on a diet
Great job with your cuppies! It was their loss
**edited for spelling-keys are sticking**
The cupcakes are lovely. You did a great job!
Once I made two cakes for a friend's baby shower. The first cake was simple cake with a teddy bear on it. The second one was a cake that looked spaghetthi and meatballs--I got the idea from Hello Cupcake book.
The spaghetti and meatball cake was put by the signup sheet to bring food to the family after the baby had arrived. It was so funny. A few of the people thought the cake was actually spaghetti and meatballs. No one would let me cut into it--it went home with the guest of honor

You should feel honored that they thought the cupcakes were works of art. At some of my school and charity events, I've cut a cupcake in half to show the inside cake and that it is very much edible
I have had that happen a couple times. That's usually when I send my husband or kids or a close friend in to eat one. Usually after someone breaks the ice (or peels the cupcake liner) it's game on after that.
You did a great job. Those are very pretty.
