I am baking a birthday cake for my husband and would like to make a TV Remote, does anyone have tips on how I can do this.

How big are you thinking? It would be cool to do like a whole sheet cake and then just carve it down to look like a remote. At least 2 or 3 layers. I would cover the whole thing in black fondant after carving it. I would make all the little buttons out of fondant too to give it a bit of a 3d look. Just have a remote right in front of you! Our cable remotes are silver on top and black on the under side. That would be cool too.. again I would use fondant for that. For the numbers etc...if they were big enough buttons you could use cut outs otherwise you could free hand it with some good edible markers. Not too much of a help but it's a start good luck!
