SB 81 passed through the Texas Senate today! The bill is now on it's way to be signed by the governor. Assuming he signs it, home bakers could be legal in Texas starting 9/1/11. Yeehaw!!!!!!!
okay... I am behind the times... didn't know it had been resurrected this time!! This is wonderful news!!

We begin our calls to the Governor's office on Tuesday morning.
(Yes, I am very, very happy. Exhausted, but thrilled.)
Congrats to home bakers in TX! This looks to be a very liberal bill, with no restrictions other than the food must be prepackaged and non-perishable.

Jason, that is not correct.
Here is the enrolled version of the bill, with amendments.

Sections 5 and 6 are the only section that applies to Cottage Foods.
I am focusing on getting the bill signed by the governor, let's hold our questions until we make it through the last step, please. Please.
edited to correct the sections.
OK, that makes a little more sense as the restrictions are more in line with other states. Thanks for the updated link!
