I realize this will take a lot of gel color but what colors do I need to mix to get a deep wine color from white fondant? I used a lot of burgundy color so far but it's way too pink. Do I use any black or no? Thank you.

Have you tried adding purple? I would try a couple of drops and if that doesn't do it add a drop of black to the mix.

Try it out on a small piece of fondant first, that way if it's not the color you like then you wouldn't have colored a huge amount of fondant in that color.

If you just can't get there another option is to get a good base color that is in the range you want to go and then use a petal dust the color you want to achieve either dry or mixed with vodka or extract to use as a paint. If coloring a large area you can sponge paint it on or apply with brush.

Newbie,

Good idea, sometimes by the time you add enough color the fondant is too wet.
