First I want to thank all of you who have given me help, read my whining posts, and gave me wonderful ideas. I am new to this whole thing and last night I was about to just throw in the towel...but I am not!!! I have been reading here on how to smooth a cake, which was my biggest tackle. Alot of the pics I see here, they are just as smooth as a baby's bottom...lol and I was trying to achieve that. I read about the VIVA paper towels...and let me do say...they are AWESOME I made a cake last night and even used the icing tip, and just used the paper towel to smooth it out...turned out great. I have to finish it up today but I just wanted to say, THANK YOU ALL for telling me about the paper towel trick. I feel like I am moving foward...(just a little ...lol ) I will post the cake after its done. (Got so excited about a smooth cake, forgot what I was going to do with it...as far as decorating..lol) TY all again!!!

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOUR CAKE WHEN IT IS FINISHED.

Don't give up as long as you enjoy what you are doing. Most of the cakes I have done I did not think they looked good at all while I was doing it. I was literally too close to it! After I got up and walked away and came back and looked at the finished cake then I can usually say "Hey, not bad!".
Your cake in the gallery in really cute. Have fun and don't give up.
