Can anyone tell me if you can make puddle faces out of buttercream. Most instructions call for royal icing. Never used it. And what tip do you use.

Also, any help on how to make hair with buttercream.

Any help appreciated.

Faces done in buttercream won't be exactly the same thing as the puddle ones. The softer royal icing will make a smooth face and they do dry hard.

You can do them in buttercream, I would use the beginning of this bear for the idea of it. You can use a finger dipped in cornstarch to smooth out the ridges.

This one will give you some ideas about doing hair and stuff.

Thank You TexasSugar, I will try the bear head. I might make a batch of royal icing to practice and see where that takes me.

Thanks again for the suggestions.
Have a great day....
