NO!!!
Royal Icing- when I make royal icing I use the whole recipe to make flowers to use on other cakes or cupcakes.
If the royal icicing is left from flooding you can use it to make letters or flat designs such as butterflies, ladybugs, flowers or any design to use at another time.

There was a whole post on this subject-- which I can not find now-- that said yes, you most definitely can freeze royal icing. I know because I was excited at the prospect of being able to do that. I believe they said to let it come to room temp and whip again. I think. I hope some of those people who said how will write in again! I would check my posts but I can't get past the first page. Seems like when I try to go to page 2 or 'next' I get a message that 'nothing fits the criteria' of my search! (I have had the worst time with CC's website!) Anyway, I'd like to see more responses on this subject for sure!

If I am ever on life support, unplug me...

Then plug me back in.  See if that works!

I just started freezing my extra royal icing a couple of months ago. It works great. No more waste. I freeze in freezer bags, let come to room temp, stir and go. Saves lots of time and product! There are a lot of great cookie tips on cookiedecorator-dot-com.

I would bake and freeze just the cake.Make your royal icing decorations and store in a cool dry place. The day before you are using the cake,I would move the cake to the fridge for awhile, then take it out,ice it and decorate with your royal icing decorations.I would not ice the cake with royal icing,it dries much too hard. You are better off using a regular sugar icing or butter cream.
