I'm pregnant & I have a friend of the family that asked me to make her daughters "shotgun wedding" cake.. the date of the wedding is June 18 & my due date is July 11. I have a very slight complication that could make cause early labor & my daughter was born early. I have explained to her that something crazy could happen & I could go into labor & not be able to make the cake. She said that was fine & she would deal with that if it happens but it makes me nervous.. should I just tell her no ? Or believe that she wouldn't be user if I did go into labor? The extra $ would be nice for some extra baby stuff .. haha

Thanks in advance for any advice or first hand experience you have with this type of situation icon_smile.gif

If it were me, I wouldn't do it. It will just add a ton of stress knowing you had this coming up. Stress is not good!

My due date is tomorrow and I did three cakes earlier this month. They were small cakes and not too stressful, but I told my clients that this is what's going on, personally I feel like I'm not going to go into labor while doing your cake, but I want you to be aware. They were fine with it. They also weren't major events and they were getting an awesome deal with me. I'd say work in your comfort zone. If you're worried about it I wouldn't do it because you don't need the extra stress. But if you think you'll be fine, go ahead. Just make sure she knows what could happen and have some sort of backup plan.
