I wanted to personally thank you Sharon on this forum! You are truly a kind and amazing cake decorator. The best, in my opinion! Your DVDs and help through this forum have truly changed my cake decorating.

If anyone reading this is on the fence about forking out the cash for any of her DVDs, what are you waiting for?! I made a Graduation cake this weekend that I would not have been able to make 3 years ago if it was not for Sharon!

No, she is not paying me to write this! =) I really just want as many people to know about her as possible! Her Dvds and tools really will change the end result of your cakes!

Thank you again Sharon!

If interested, here is the cake I did this weekend

Thanks,
Michael

Now, about your cake......it is awesome! At first glance, I didn't even think that it was real! Great job!

I just adore Sharon (SugarShack) I too have 5 of her DVD's and tools she sells. She is so personable and really makes the skills and techniques she teaches attainable ( even if I don't always have time to do it as she has taught me). I put her on the big screen ( I can see from the kitchen) crank the volume and have my very own one on one cake decorating class icon_smile.gif Love it! Her dvd's are worth every penny!

Mikel79 your cake is lovely, so crisp and clean and really well done!

Me too me too. I always say I want to be Sharon Z when I grow up. She's my cake best buddy even though I've never met her. I hope one day to meet her in person and take a live class. When I'm debating buying a new DVD I always think 'hmm could I just figure it out on my own' then I order the DVD and I'm floored how much I learn and how smart she is. One perfect example of this the Stacking DVD. I use SPS and even though she uses dowels I could apply 95% of what she was teaching.

Sharon is the best!

I have 3 of her DVD's and i am about to get the box n bow dvd.. A friend of mine flow all the way from NYC to I think it was Georgia to take one of her 2days classes. She told me Sharon, is in a class all by herself she is amazing..When u take her classes u have to bring ur own cakes which ppl flow with their cakes frozen in their suitcase, this one lady we flow from California, her cake just collapsed and she cried. My friend said the any normal baker would have just tossed it but Sharon told the lady to just relax that she was going to make sure she left with a cake and u better best to believe the lady left with a cake. Till this day my friend keeps in touch with sharon.... I course got so jealous when my friend told me but hey what ever sharon teaches my friend my friend teaches me lol

I'm in the 6-DVD Club. She is AMAZING!!! Making my first book cake this weekend and I'm feeling good about it because of Sharon. Even though I can't perfect her buttercream, the other skills she has taught me are SOOO valuable. I love sitting there watching and thinking, "How do you do that? DUH that's how!!!" She truly is one of the best decorators in the field. She needs to go on more challenge shows-I love watching her work.

Oh my! I am simply overwhelmed and humbled by all of this love! You guys are way too generous! I am thrilled to hear how much the DVDs are helping you all, as that is my mission as I produce each one; I want you to have as much detailed info as possible to help take some of the frustration of trial and error out of the process.

Mikel, you are one cool dude and you have mad skilz, and I am happy to help you anytime. ALL of you are my BFF's and can email me anytime.

Thank you all again ; I honestly do not feel deserving of such overgenerous praise.

Hugs, SZ

Just want to add my 2 cents worth. Sharon, I have 6 of your DVDs and watch them over and over. This past weekend I used your Crusting Buttercream recipe for the first time on some graduation cakes. I was at one of the graduation parties and OHMYGOSH the raving over the flavor of the icing convinced me to use it exclusively from now on!

For decades I have used a similar buttercream, but am here to tell you that B&B Wedding Bouquet flavoring is a customer magnet!! Your suggestion of covering the mixer paddle to prevent air bubbles was worth the cost of the entire Buttercream DVD in itself!!

I just ordered a few more tools from your site and will be ordering again in the future. You and all the other new "friends I've never met" here on Cake Central are wonderful mentors. Your generosity and kindness are much appreciated! icon_smile.gif

My first post on Cake Central. I want to thank Sharon also - she answered an email question I had the very same day and helped me save my cake. I own 6 DVD's. I'm so glad someone else watches on the big screen making it our very own personal class. Sharon your precise work makes my beginning work look so much more professional. Thanks for the inside tips!

I want to chime in too! I recently received my Buttercream DVD and am certain that what I have learned just from watching will help. I am trying it out tonight and can't wait! Practice, practice, practice!

I was re-watching the DVD (on the big screen too!) last night and my husband sat down and watched it with me. Maybe we should have made some popcorn! icon_lol.gif Sharon - you are so talented and generous to share with all of us, thank you. Can't wait to get my next one!!

I have to say thank you too. icon_smile.gif I saw you for the first time on Ultimate Cake challenge and knew right away where you were from because I grew up in NOLA. I've searched high and low for the vanilla cake recipe that you used that you called a staple for wedding cakes in NOLA. I love your work and I love listening to you talk because it reminds me of my growing up years. icon_smile.gif

Ok, gonna post it here since this is running....made Sharons bc 2 days ago and I love how it feels and its so smooth....I tinted it and its on its 2nd day of tinting....I need a dark purple and dark bright pink.

I added 4 toothpics of each color into each container, and its real light in color, like a pastel, then I added electric americolors about 4-5 drops, let it sit again and its still very very light!!!! need to decorate cake today.....

ANY IDEAS?
