Got a 50 lb bag of each pillsbury bakery mix and creme cake base on the way....free! My sales rep was excellent! Can't thank OP enough!!!!!!!
I just got a free 50lb bag from my local sales rep! Now I have to experment with it. Pretty neat to get it for free.
wow it is interesting to see that the send out 50lbs sample bags for free. Great info.
Well I had to pretty much beg for one. I havent used it yet, the directions are for a big batch. Has anyone tried using it?
I have a free bag on its way! Does any one know if there is a website link on how to converte the recipe to varios flavors and sizes?

Yeah, I think it's a smart move on their part (as long as it's good) the people that get a free bag will buy more I'm sure. I will.
The only problem is I can't figure out how much to use for smaller batches. I tried using the same amount that is in a cake mix and it came out a little dry. Can anyone help with this?????
...so if you weigh the regular sized cake mix why would it not be the same if you weighed out the same amount from the 50 lb. bag?

Hi ashleyandben ,can you give me the kansas contact.
Thanks

With the 50lb bag you only add water and oil...no eggs....maybe that's why it comes out differently. I'm going to keep playing with it but I'd rather not waste any....I was hoping someone has figured out exactly how much to use for smaller batches.
I would also love one and i am in ca can someone pls direct me in the right direction
I'm in OH and had no luck. The best I got was to give him a call and he'd help me find distributors in my area -- so no free samples. At least I gave it a shot, but a little disappointed as I was looking forward to trying it out.
I would also like the rep from Oklahoma. Thanks so much. what did you have to say for the free samples? again thanks for the info.
Well, back on July 13th I found the rep for MA/NH through that link from earlier in the thread and emailed her that day. Never heard from her. Guess I'll try to find her phone number. Would someone please shoot me a quick note with the rep's name and contact info so I can be sure I have the right person? I'd really appreciate that!
Nice reps...They don't send out nothing for free here...I order from Dawn foods all the time and we never get any samples..Boo.....
Wow! I haven't been on here in a long time, I had no idea there were this many resposes!

Thanks OP, for this info. I called our area rep a about a month ago, and he said they would send us out a couple of bags the next week, We didn't get it so I called him again last week and he apologized about it not coming so he said that he would send it out again, It came in today.Yeah!! I am getting ready to try it out for a cake I have due tomorrow. Thanks again.
I emailed my rep over a week ago and have not heard anything back yet. Disappointed, I was looking forward to trying it.
I unfortunaly do not have a scale. Does anyone know about how many cups each pound of cake mix would represent? i was thinking about 4 cups for each pound, is that about right? I am sure each mix may weigh differently. I need to just invest in a small kitchen scale, its next on my very long list.
This is the response I received:
We do not sell direct, so you will need to purchase Pillsbury 50# mixes through a distributor in your area. Do you already have a distributor that you purchase from? What size mixes are you currently using?
We sell mostly 50# cake mixes, as well as some flavors in 25# bags. Our most popular line of cake mix is the Pillsubry Bakers Plus line. You can read more about our products at www.pillsburybakery.com.
I just received my free sample - a 50 lb. bag of white cake mix. My question is "what do you mean when you say "scale the water and mix into the mixer""? I have a white cake next week and would love to try this.

Hello!
I found you listed as a contact for information on pillsbury commercial mixes. I currently own a cupcake, cake pop, brownie, and whoopie pie business. I bake both from scratch and using pillsbury cake mix recipes and am interested in buying my pillsbury items in bulk. I will be opening up a storefront and special order business in mid september and would like info on how to order from pillsbury in bulk. Please let me know the distributors in or around Springfield Mo 65804. If there are no distributers in my area, please advise how I can order these items and have them shipped if that is possible.
I also understand you have commercial mixes that are add water only and some that you still add the eggs etc. how do these compair in flavor/quality? Any information would be greatly appreciated! I have attached my order form so you have some idea of what I would be needed (vanilla/yellow cake, red velvet, chocolate, lemon etc.).
